Frequently Asked Questions
How is direct primary care different? Direct primary care (DPC) is a healthcare model that allows patients to pay their primary care provider directly, bypassing traditional insurance systems. This approach leads to more personalized care, as patients have greater access to their doctors and can enjoy longer appointment times. Advantages of DPC include improved access to care, lower costs, transparency in pricing, and a focus on preventive care, which generally leads to better health outcomes. Overall, we believe that this model of care (DPC) fosters a stronger patient-provider relationship and enhances the overall healthcare experience.
Do you accept insurance? No. However, we do highly recommend having medical insurance to cover any possible outside care needs such as specialist care, urgent and emergency care, and hospital admissions.
How quickly can I be seen? Typically as an established patient you can be seen either for an in-person or telephone visit with your provider same day or next day (Monday-Thursday excluding holidays and vacation). New patients can generally be seen for an initial visit within 2 weeks of being accepted to the practice.
How long are patient visits? It will depend on you and your needs! However, you can expect a typical regular visit to last 30-60 minutes.
How many patient visits does my membership include? Your membership includes 8 in-person doctor visits per year and unlimited virtual visits, visits for blood pressure checks, messages with the provider and phone messages. Additional encounters cost $150 each. This additional rate may be waived at the discretion of the provider.
Do you perform in clinic labs / imaging? We provide point of care in office testing including EKGs, urine dipstick and pregnancy testing, flu, strep, and covid testing, glucose, and A1c. We do not have on-site lab or radiology. Your provider can order lab tests and radiology studies and direct you where you can have this done. We also perform suture and staple removal, pap smears, and ear cleaning at no additional cost.
How do I sign up?
Do you treat kids? At this time we only treat adult (18 years and older) patients.
Do you perform home visits? No, not at this time.
What if I need urgent or emergent care outside of clinic hours? If you are experiencing an emergent condition at any time we recommend you call 911 for emergency evaluation. If you have an urgent medical issue after clinic hours you can either be assessed at an urgent care or emergency room or for less urgent issues message your provider or call back during office hours to schedule a same or next day visit if appropriate. There is no guarantee of after-hours availability. Your doctor will make reasonable efforts to respond to urgent calls and messages until 9PM and from 6AM until clinic opening on days that the clinic is open.
Where are you located? Coming soon!
Do you administer vaccines? No, but we provide counseling and recommendations for vaccines and where you can get them.
